PracSuite is Smartsoft's new cloud-based practice management system designed for allied health professionals, which is available now for new and existing clients.


We are pleased to share that PracSuite moved out of beta in June 2020. We now have over 200 clients using PracSuite, and the feedback received so far has been overwhelmingly positive!

Can I continue using Front Desk?
Yes. Smartsoft will continue to support Front Desk and will be actively developing new features for many years to come. Moving forward, Smartsoft will be offering two products: Front Desk as a desktop application and PracSuite for those users wishing to use a cloud-based application.

If I move to PracSuite, what happens to my existing Front Desk licences and my Front Desk Extended Care Plan?
If you choose to move to PracSuite, Smartsoft will assist you with migrating your existing Front Desk patient data to PracSuite. Users with an active Extended Care Plan will be able to migrate their data to PracSuite at no cost.

Once the migration is complete, you should no longer need to use Front Desk or maintain your Front Desk Extended Care Plan. However, as most practices own a perpetual licence for Front Desk, you will continue to be able to access your Front Desk system in full should you need. Smartsoft will also offer basic support services at no additional cost for previous Front Desk users that are using PracSuite.

What features are planned for late 2020?
Medipass integration, which will provide card payments, HICAPS Go claims, Medicare and DVA claims is due to be rolled out to all PracSuite users in October 2020. It is important to familiarise yourself with Medipass’ fees and charges.

Online booking is scheduled to become available by the end of November 2020. Online forms are expected to become available by early 2021.

In future, we will be developing integrations with CliniqApps, Physitrack, telehealth solutions, Xero, MYOB and more.

What devices can I use to access PracSuite?
PracSuite supports all popular platforms and web browsers on Windows, Mac, mobile devices and tablets, including iPad.

Is PracSuite secure?
PracSuite is hosted using Australian government approved hosting providers and is hosted using the same platform as the big banks. For Australian users, your data will be only hosted on Australian servers. All data will be encrypted at rest and in transit. PracSuite also includes several user-configurable security settings, such as two-factor authentication, IP address restrictions, access schedules and an extensive set of role-based permissions, which work together to limit where, when and what users can access in PracSuite.
