Front Desk offers integration with HICAPS via the HICAPS Connect software, which is used by both older HICAPS terminals and the new HICAPS Trinity terminal.
If you require assistance with connecting your new terminal to the HICAPS Connect software, please contact the HICAPS Help Desk on 1800 650 852.
As many customers are upgrading to the new HICAPS Trinity terminals, please note the following requirements for integration with Front Desk:
1) HICAPS Connect software:
You must have the HICAPS Connect software installed on your machine, and this must be version 18.104.22.168 as found here. If you were previously integrating with HICAPS using an older terminal this will likely already be installed on your computer.
Please note that there is newer HICAPS Connect software available, however this is not compatible with Front Desk. Please do not upgrade your HICAPS Connect software. You must be using the above version of the HICAPS Connect software to integrate your HICAPS Trinity terminal with Front Desk.
2) Connecting the terminal to your computer
The official advice from HICAPS is that the new terminal must connect to your computer with the supplied micro USB cable.
This cable should plug into the back of the terminal into the port below. The other end should be plugged into your computer.
The following two cables should be connected.
If you have:
1) Installed the correct version of HICAPS Connect (v22.214.171.124);
2) Physically connected the terminal to your computer using the micro USB cable.
and HICAPS Connect is not detecting the terminal, you must contact the HICAPS Help Desk on 1800 650 852.
Smartsoft cannot assist further until your HICAPS Connect software detects the HICAPS terminal as below.
